Kids Helping Kids: Students Unite to Collect Food

Gazing out from the stage in the school’s Assembly Room, fifteen second grade students stood and collectively asked the assembled audience some objective questions: “What if you only had one meal a day, could you be happy? Could you concentrate in school? Probably not,” they answered. “Your stomach would ache, your head would hurt and your heart would be broken.”

Vidya Dharma is a project of Mount Madonna School’s Values in World Thought program. Values is a two-year curriculum, which culminated in a two-week Learning Journey to India for 16 Mount Madonna School seniors in April 2011.

Sifting Through the Sand: Students Assist Researchers with Crab Count

On a typical morning at Santa Cruz’s Natural Bridges State Beach, children and adults can be seen walking, playing and exploring the shore and sand along this scenic stretch of coastline. On Saturday, October 15, some 25 visitors to the beach were Mount Madonna School (MMS) students and parents taking part in LiMPETS (Long-term Monitoring Program and Experiential Training for Students), an environmental monitoring and education program for students and teachers and other volunteer groups.

Parent Role in Performing Arts

The Performing Arts Program at Mount Madonna school is a major part of our curriculum.

For the high school production to be a success, all parents and guardians are asked to participate in some way. To indicate the preferred area where you would like to support the production of Fiddler on the Roof, please fill out the survey by November 16. Go to survey (Survey Monkey)
