On Saturday, September 24, 2016, Mount Madonna School (MMS) will host its annual Girls Varsity Volleyball Invitational Tournament. The tournament, featuring local teams, will be held in the school’s new 10,000-square-foot gymnasium, located at 491 Summit Road. First serve will be at 9:00am.
“Our athletic program loves hosting the MMS Invitational every year because it allows our varsity team to compete against other smaller division schools and often preview match ups that may happen in the post season,” commented MMS girls varsity coach Erin Mitchell. Mitchell, an alumna of MMS (class of 2010), is also the school’s incoming middle school athletic director. “With the completion of our new gym this year, we are especially excited to host this Invitational!”
The members of the MMS girls varsity volleyball team are: Izzy Thomas, 12th; Aimee Kerr, Gracie Howley, Indigo Kelly, and Sienna Clifton, 11th; Eleanor Harrington, Imogen Cockrum, Kaili Sullens and Mara Peruzzi, 10th; and Paola Jacobs, 9th.
In addition to Mount Madonna, the other participants in the tournament are: Anzar High School, Pacific Collegiate School, St. Francis Central Coast Catholic High School, Scotts Valley High School, Thomas More School, University Preparatory Academy, and Woodside Priory School.
