Mission and Purpose
Summit for the Planet centers on giving inspiration and instruction to today’s youth and their families in how they can take meaningful action on important environmental and stewardship issues. In the past two years, this Festival has shown how invigorating it is to bring together students, faculty, parents, grandparents, community members, scientists, and other local experts to participate together in a day of enjoyable learning activities.
For MMS, this event is:
- a fun, educational, community-building event for our current students and their families, faculty and staff
- a major fundraiser for our school
- a way to showcase our students’ work to our own families, grandparents, and special friends
- an outreach event for the public and prospective families to showcase our campus and exhibit what makes our school unique
Summit for the Planet walk-a-thon
The walk-a-thon raises funds for MMS. Other local non-profit community organizations (schools, youth groups, environmental organizations) are welcome. Groups are invited to raise funds through walk-a-thon pledges and they keep 70% for their own organizations (that’s a much better return than wrapping paper, cookie dough or magazines). www.SummitforthePlanet.org
