Our performing arts program produces three mainstage productions annually and is seeking a skilled Stage Manager to join our creative team and help bring each show to life.
Position Overview
The Stage Manager is a key member of the performing arts team and is responsible for organizing and coordinating all stage-related aspects of rehearsals and performances. Working closely with the performing arts team, technical crew, and student performers, the Stage Manager ensures smooth operation and communication from pre-production through closing night. This is a short-term, project-based role focused on supervising backstage logistics, overseeing student crew members, and ensuring seamless set transitions during performances.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the directing and technical teams to understand the timing and layout of all set changes
- Assign set switch responsibilities to student crew members and rehearse transitions with them
- Maintain the condition and placement of all set pieces, ensuring readiness for each performance
- Troubleshoot any backstage issues quickly and calmly during live shows
- Attend all rehearsals and performances (including after school hours and occasional weekends)
- Call cues during technical rehearsals and performances and oversee set switches
- Facilitate communication between performing arts team, technical crew, and student performers
- Supervise all backstage operations, maintaining safety and professionalism of students and crew
- Foster a respectful, inclusive, and supportive environment for student participants
Qualifications
- Prior stage management experience (educational, community, or professional theatre)
- Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills
- Experience working with middle and/or high school-aged students is preferred
- Ability to take direction from the directing team in supporting and executing the overall vision
- Familiarity with technical theatre practices and cue calling
- Professional, calm, and reliable presence under pressure
- Evening and weekend availability
- Must pass a background check per school hiring policy

The Contracts and Accounts Receivable works closely with the Head of School, Financial Controller, Board Finance Committee, Advancement and Registrar. Supervision is provided by the Financial Controller.
Responsibility and Skill Sets:

- Create enrollment contracts.
- Active member of the finance team evaluating financial assistance
- Prepare financial assistance reports
- Ensure FACTS is updated and open for the enrollment season.
- Receives, processes, and collects on goods sold or services rendered.
- Review account information, correct discrepancies, and ensure that accounts are properly billed and that payments are collected timely
- Processing, verifying, and posting receipts for goods sold or services rendered.
- Researching and resolving account discrepancies.
- Processing and recording transactions.
- Maintaining records regarding payments and account statuses.
- Obtaining information from other departments to ensure records are accurate and complete and that accounts receivable ledgers and journals are up-to-date.
- Performing administrative and clerical tasks, such as data entry, preparing invoices, sending bill reminders, filing paperwork, and contacting clients to discuss their accounts.
- Work closely with the Financial Controller to generate reports and prepare journal entries.
