Book Signing: Author and Pixar Artist Sanjay Patel at “Ramayana!”

Audiences already familiar with Mount Madonna School’s unique and professional production of “Ramayana” don’t need any additional incentive to follow the show to San Jose; the music, costumes, and special effects – not to mention the 200+ young actors – keep loyal fans returning year after year.

For the upcoming Premier Evening on Friday, June 11, however, “Ramayana” enthusiasts will have one more reason not to miss out: author and Pixar artist Sanjay Patel will attend the show and sign copies of his book Ramayana: Divine Loophole.

Patel is an animator and storyboard artist for Pixar Animation Studios, where he has worked on features that include Monsters, Inc.; A Bug’s Life; Toy Story 2; Cars; Ratatouille; The Incredibles; and Toy Story 3. He has also worked on The Simpsons for Fox and with legendary cartoonist John K., creator of Ren and Stimpy. Patel also authored and illustrated The Little Book of Hindu Deities. He lives in Oakland, CA.

Now in its 32nd year, Mount Madonna School’s dazzling show is the longest running production of this timeless Indian epic in the western hemisphere, and an event for the whole family! Premiering the show at San Jose’s Mexican Heritage Theater is a huge milestone, and allows the School to introduce new audiences to the wonder of this unique theatrical production.

The book signing is not a public event; however anyone attending the June 11 performance is invited to have their book signed. Attendees can bring their own copy of the book with them; additional copies will be available to purchase at the theater.
