Our annual Creative Writing Reading is a time to gather in community and experience the poetry, stories, and songs written by our high school students. This year the writings capture the vulnerability and depth of feelings of our current circumstances while demonstrating the expanse and possibilities of the imagination. Joan Didion said, “I write entirely to find out what I’m thinking, what I’m looking at, what I see and what it means. What I want and what I fear.” Through art we mine our experiences, our thoughts, our feelings, and our resilience. The virtual nature of this year’s event allows us to share unique and manifold visual storytelling. Please join us in this celebration of our students’ writing and art. – Haley Campbell (’02)
The high school Creative Writing Reading is an annual event where students, faculty, parents and friends gather together to listen to our student writers read their works. Mark your calendars and plan to join us! ALL high school students are expected to participate as part of our English curriculum. Sharing stories and poetry takes great courage and vulnerability, so families and friends are encouraged to come support and celebrate the process.
This event is for high school students, their families and guests. All are welcomed and encouraged to attend; however, please be aware that some presentations may not be filtered for younger audiences.
