Halloween Costume Guidelines at Mount Madonna School

MMS is a school that values creativity as well as inclusivity. Students should be free to express themselves, however please guide students in choosing costumes that actively avoid the ridicule of any race, nationality, religious belief or gender expression. Avoid wigs and face paint that may be seen to imitate another race.

Other Costume Guidelines

  • CDC recommendation: Do not wear a costume mask over a protective cloth mask because it can be dangerous if the costume mask makes it hard to breathe. Instead, consider using a Halloween-themed cloth mask
  • Masks or “non-violent” props should come in a bag or backpack and be easy for the child to put on or take off. No large props are allowed on the bus
  • No toy weapons of any kind (guns, swords, or knives) allowed on the bus or on campus
  • Students are reminded to be especially careful not to scare our younger students with their costumes or behavior
