Students, faculty or staff who made students smile or went the extra mile
Weeks of May 23
Rebecca P., fifth grade
Rebecca is such a caring and helpful person. She helped all the preschoolers find a seat on the bus and made sure they were buckled properly. She was so sweet with them and took the time to see that they were sitting with a buddy and that they had a seat they liked. She is such a fantastic role model for the younger kids!

Zara Sidhu first grade
Zara is so gentle and kind. We had a new student and Zara sat down to draw her a beautiful and colorful welcome card.
She also rushes inside anytime someone is hurt to obtain a bandaid and write a little “feel better soon” note. She is new to our school this year and a model student both academically and socially.
She also is extremely creative and loves art. She embodies the values we teach here at MMS.

Chelsea Otterness, Dance Teacher
Chelsea arrives at work each day with a deep sense of gratitude. She openly shares that she loves having the opportunity to work with students of all ages and meeting them where they are at that moment in their journey. She also rocks because she exhibits and models the 21st century skills that we are working to develop in our preschool to twelfth grade students! – Ann Goewert, head of school
Victory Gulizia, Seventh Grade
“This person is the most kind and generous person I’ve ever met. Can you guess who? Victory! She is always there for our class, and she is a friend to everyone. She is always willing to help you out, and she definitely deserves some appreciation! Victory is a loyal, brave person and I’m so glad I met her!” – Anonymous

Amaya Bakhru, Third Grade
“Amaya has been kind and supportive all year to my daughter Simone (a first-year preschooler). Amaya helps Simone with her seatbelt and bags, and at the beginning of the year when Simone was sometimes tearful on the ride to school, Amaya would sit with Simone and read books and sing to her. I am so grateful to Amaya for treating Simone with such care and kindness.” -Brooke Sampson

Week of February 21
Mateo Borrego
Mateo had a fantastic game and led the Hawks soccer team to a 5-2 win over Tierra Pacifica last week. Mateo scored four goals and more importantly, was a team player who continued to distribute the ball to his teammates, even when he could have scored himself. Great job Mateo and to the middle school soccer team as a whole! GO HAWKS!
