Mount Madonna School SGA Collecting Donations for Flood Relief

Hello Students, Faculty, Staff, and Families!

On behalf of the Mount Madonna School Student Government, I want to send some information regarding the newest step of our plan to support those near us impacted by recent flooding: an ongoing donation drive for Raíces y Cariño and Second Harvest Food Bank.
Raíces y Cariño is a local organization that is helping families and individuals in the Watsonville/Pajaro Area specifically from low-income and Latinx backgrounds. Currently, they are taking donations to help people who have been displaced by the flooding.
Second Harvest Food Bank is taking non-perishable food donations and monetary donations through the Mount Madonna School fundraising link: https://give.thefoodbank.org/campaigns/25675-mount-madonna-school-storm-relief-fundraiser
The most needed items right now are:
– 1-gallon water jugs
– Diapers size 4,5,6
– Backpacks
– Toiletries: toothbrushes, baby wipes, toothpaste, deodorant
– Toilet paper
– Gloves for cleaning
– Non-perishable food items packaged in aluminum or cardboard
We have two collection sites on campus: our front office and at the lower school bus stop.
Additionally, look out for updates regarding volunteer opportunities at Second Harvest Food Bank and other organizations working to help our community members in this time of need.
Thank you,
Zoey Ocampo, Senior Class President
