Reconnecting: Senior Class-Alumni Luncheon 2022

Mount Madonna School (MMS) welcomed about 20 alumni to today’s Senior Class-Alumni Luncheon on campus. We are grateful to our alumni for reconnecting and offering words of wisdom to senior students; there was lots of love in the room! For a few of the alums it was there first time meeting Head of School Ann Goewert; also in attendance was former head of school Supriya McDonald and several faculty members.

“The alumni luncheon was a tender homecoming for our alumni,” commented Head of School Ann Goewert. ” The seniors showcased their culinary, event planning, and management skills by preparing and serving our guests a healthy and locally sourced meal.”

Director of Upper School Shannon Kelly (’92), agreed:

“The alumni luncheon is always one of my favorite events at Mount Madonna School,” said Kelly. “This year, as part of their Adulting 101 class, the seniors prepared a wonderful meal to share with faculty and alumni. After lunch, the alumni in attendance spent time talking with the seniors about life after MMS. A few common themes expressed by alums were the magic of the campus and the life-long friendships that were formed while at MMS.”

After lunch, alumni offered words of wisdom to current seniors in an emotionally tender and supportive circle.

“There’s no place like MMS. No place in the world. And the resources here are the best. My advice is to listen to Shannon [Kelly]. She is the best resource for college applications.” said Kayla Goldstein (’22).

“Mount Madonna creates a family,” said Daniel Clifton (’14). “A lot of my class isn’t here in California anymore, but every time they come back it’s like no time has passed.”
