The postseason ride for the Mount Madonna School girls volleyball team ended Thursday night in Redding — nearly six hours north of its Watsonville campus.

It was a long trip home, to say the least.

Despite 24 kills and 16 digs from junior outside hitter Paola Jacobs, the No. 7 Hawks dropped their CIF Northern California Division IV regional quarterfinal to host and No. 2-seeded Shasta High in three games, 21-25, 20-25, 24-26. Read more
