The Pajaronian: Girls Volleyball, SCCAL All-League

The Pajaronian, 11/7/2019, “Girls volleyball: Mariners’ dynamic duo named to all-league first team,” by Juan Reyes.

The coaches of the Santa Cruz Coast Athletic League got together last week to make up this year’s all-league girls volleyball teams. 

…Mount Madonna senior Paola Jacobs and junior Savannah Cambell were also second team selections.

Jacobs led the Hawks in kills (299) and in digs (279), and was second in aces (50), according to stats kept by the team.

Cambell finished with a team-high 645 assists and 50 aces along with 191 digs and 69 kills.

Mt. Madonna finished fourth in the SCCAL but qualified as the top seed in the CCS D-V playoffs.

Aptos and Mt. Madonna each had a pair of players earn honorable mention.

Mariners’ senior middle blocker Gabby Giuffre and senior libero Sophie Wilford earned recognition, and Hawks’ senior libero AnMei Dasbach-Prisk and sophomore outside hitter Liana Kitchel also earned a mention.
